From the first chapter on, the story took a different each chapter and the backgrounds and the build, leading up to how Sasha meets Amare is a pulse pounding thrill ride, that's got a nice,slow burn to it.  There is so much to enjoy and yet it's got a darker side to it too.  Really well done!

Wow! Unexpectedly top notch.  I went into this skeptical after reading a few other crime fiction/FBI novels, but this one renewed my faith in the genre. I would hope this might become a series we can all stream, as the author was so very good at building a slow boil and keeping my interest all the way through!

It was a such a phenomenal piece of story telling!!!  Plight was sooooo good! I thought it would probably be predictable, and it is always 50/50 with independent writers.  But what a surprise... it wasn't like anything I've ever read (and I'm an avid reader).  What a well rounded story that doesn't finish where it started and I mean that in the best way.  One of the best Novels of 2025 and I don't say that lightly.

I found this book a pleasure to read. Devin works on Wall Street in the 1980s, but after losing millions of dollars on Black Monday, he gets fired and has to find a new source of income. He opens an illegal shell company that trades farmland which they're turning into coca fields. With a comedic edge, this book is unique and engaging! You'll love the characters and get hooked from beginning to end.

5 Stars! ...Not sure if the Author is going to write anymore of this one. This book was a birthday present and one of the best I ever received. I really admire the comedy... the way that drug cartels are described in this book is absolutely phenomenal ! Devin finds himself in one risky line of work. The Author must have learned about the life of a wall street business professional. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good book that keeps you interested in upcoming events. Great Book!

The question you've gotta ask is "What do you think happens
The question you've gotta ask is &amp;quot;What do you think happens when you put wall street with a lot of cocaine?&amp;quot; Not what you'd think. I found myself enjoying Black Monday and its characters, even more so as the pages passed Well placed bits of humor and engrossing storyline, as seen thru the guise of Devin Drakes narrations. What caught me by surprise was how good it was... smart, engaging and funny all the way to the end.

To be honest I hadn't always had the best experiences with Indie Author in the past 50/50 at best, but I have to admit I was wanting the next chapter when I reached the end, which I hope comes out soon. Really, really a fine novel. Highly recommend!

When I comparing Thomas Lee Wrights hit movie : "New Jack City"
When I comparing Thomas Lee Wrights hit movie : &amp;ldquo;New Jack City,&amp;rdquo; I must say, if he decides to make a sequel to New Jack City, this story would fit the bill. This book is a &amp;ldquo;must read&amp;rdquo; for all adults. The chapters appear to progress as Devin is &amp;ldquo;breaking bad&amp;rdquo; on unemployment. He gradually forges a life of crime. But no, not only crime, he purchases land to cultivate pounds of pure cocaine. As the plot thickens, he&amp;rsquo;s trading cocaine on the stock market. This, I&amp;rsquo;m sure will support the conspiracy theory of those who believe that the U.S. Govt. does this in real life. Anyone reading this book can identify with the 80&amp;rsquo;s epidemic of cocaine. I find it not only a dark comedy but rather educational. It taught me how Devin and people like him develop into criminals as victims of circumstance. Laundering money to pay stockbrokers wasn&amp;rsquo;t the only problems that Devin encounters, it is just the beginning. The chapters are sized correctly, and aren&amp;rsquo;t too long. When you start reading, you won&amp;rsquo;t want to stop reading. Overall, I refer to this book as a dark comedy filled with never-ending action. To the Author I say : You couldn&amp;rsquo;t have written a better book&amp;hellip;it was worth the money !

An up-and-coming yuppie stock-brocker, Devin, sees the value of his portfolio sink in the wake of a stock market crash. There is a great deal of hypocrisy in this world, with each person willing to play one-upmanship and cheerfully stab each other's back to make the big time. Worst of all, Devin's boss, an member of the old guard, takes exquisite pleasure in not only firing his charge but doing everything he can to break his spirit in the process. Devin becomes so disillusioned by the life style that he has the sudden epiphany that it would be more intellectually and emotionally honest to deal with manufacturers of unregistered pharmaceuticals, essentially become a profiteer on the one policy of America's which is even more hypocritical than allowing the dishonest to play with other people's money, and that is to provide a product which our hypocritical officials consider far too dangerous for the common public to possess. During his odyssey throughout South American and Southern California Devin finds a range of people, some fair, some fault, one or two even loving, but none who are treacherous like on Wall Street. But nobody, not even Devin, can keep this artificial paradise from eventually crashing down around their ears. Evidently Part II is how that starts. This is has potential for a complete five star-novel, but as this is not a complete novel it has not earned that status with me.

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?I actually grew up in Hawaii. I was very lucky to have such an experience with family, nature and friends. I am greatly influenced by island life and still see the world through those eyes, expectant of doing the right thing, for the right reasons and if I have written a story well, perhaps it resonates in the what's being told. What's the story behind your latest book?It's about an FBI Agent named Amare Dumisuni. It actually started in a different direction and ended up with the story of Agent Dumisuni searching for a missing girl, but uncovering a human trafficking ring. The actual story is about much more... how several people at the collapse of the Soviet Union are greatly affected by change and the obstacles they must overcome and the choices made impact others, even later, in the U.S. How has self publishing contributed to your success?The different channels and having it available on several websites. Much easier than trying to submit and work with multiple content providers. What motivated you to become an indie author?I found the traditional process to be convoluted and way behind the times. I, like everyone else got a few rejection letters, others advised they wouldn't even consider it without coming from an agent and I discovered the world of self publishing and decided to explore. As I wrote more, I found it easier to publish. When did you first start writing?Actually, when I was a child, around seven or eight. It was just a short story about a superhero, though I don't remember much about it, but for dinner, he had to cook a pig on an open flame, or spitfire rotisserie and my parents like my creativity, but my father's only critique was how I knew a pig would be cooked in an Imu Pit. That's still funny to me, because somehow I forgot that tiny detail and it taught me the devil is in the details. In 6th, or 7th grade, I actually started writing short stories about myself as the prince and one of the girls in my class as the princess. They were in a humorous style, kind of like the narrative style of "Rocky &amp; Bullwinkle". Nothing special, but everyone that read it, including Sheri, seemed to enjoy it. Later it was just verbal stories that would make people laugh. What do your fans mean to you?Appreciation for my efforts and validating my attempt at telling a story was worth it. What is the greatest joy of writing for you?The ability to turn a few sentences into an idea and as the paragraphs flow, a story starts to develop and when it makes sense enough to entertain... that's the best part. Who are your favorite authors?Too many to just single out ones efforts. Next question. What inspires you to get out of bed each day?The hopes of seeing progress and the thought of creating something others might enjoy. When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?I'm always thinking about it. No, not all the time, anyways. In the experience of life, conversation and being in the world. What are you working on next?The follow up to "Plight" and my other novel "Black Monday". I also am working on a few other ideas and we'll see how far they go. How do you discover the ebooks you read?Events, experience, crazy ideas. Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?See my previous answer about being 7 or 8 years old. What is your writing process?Sometimes it's just expanding on an idea, while sometimes I'm lucky enough to have the story play out in my head while I'm writing it. Notes are a big part of my process and It's always evolving. Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish,, Blue Fish... I felt like I should always be entertained and captivated with the use of words and language. Later it was reinforced by Shakespeare and the beauty of an expressive language. How do you approach cover design?What ever feels right to express the story it's trying to convey and that is a very difficult process. Bonus Question:Why do you always use the cover of "Antlers, Dragon and Rodent." as your profile picture?Because that image best associates how and where I grew up. It's a rendering of how three friends are remembered. "The boys of summer" as depicted by that cover. Something honest and pure of heart, that even to this day continues to mean a lot.
